8 people killed in Iraq this Morning

Eight killed in Iraq suicide attack: security sources

MOSUL: At least eight people were killed and 20 wounded in a suicide truck bombing in Iraq's restive northern city of Mosul on Friday, security sources told.

The blast occurred in the southern part of Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed al-Juburi told. An interior ministry official said at least eight people were killed.

Despite repeated Iraqi-US operations in Mosul, the city is still gripped by a strong insurgency, in part due to a complex Kurd, Sunni and Christian mix but also because of tribal rivalries.

Twitter Catastrophe from April 1!

Well, I changed my Twitter password. I don't really care if Twitter wants to add a billion people following me but I don't want to follow hundreds of people. That defeats the purpose of having a feed for people I want to follow; if there are too many people updating on it I might as well just go to "Everyone" and start there. I changed my password yesterday let's see if my amount of followers and friends stays manageable.
At first I did not really care that weird things were going on with my Twitter account because it is not like what I wrote and/or responded to was ever maimed. THAT would have annoyed me.
Remember when my myspace account got taken over by someone pretending to be me. I stopped using myspace and ofcourse someone noticed and used it. I sent "I have a crush on you, click here!" messages to all of my myspace "friends". A girl at work told me what was going on or I would have never known. Now I basically just go on myspace to make sure I am the only one using my account and to check out peoples' music and show dates. I think for music it is a good networking site.
Here are a couple of screen shots (above, top of this post) taken throughout the day on April 1 as I watched my Twitter networking numbers change dramatically throughout the day. I did this to have proof such April 1 pranks went on. (So people do not think I am nuts).
Happy Belated April 1!

NIN iPhone App

Here is the video about it: NIN iPhone App Preview

I am about to download it. Will write about it later. Hopefully it will make me happy and not be a joke which I first considered it may be.

Amateur wine tasting

I wanted to make my own "wine tasting" sheets because I was going to drive all the way to Newton and pay more for wine just so I could use my cool card and get the personalized wine tasting stuff they e-mail to you later. Here it is, draft 1 of my Wine Tasting Notes sheet, filled out with some, not "cheaper" but "inexpensive" wine from the pakky across the street.

Hey, wine tasting is a great Sunday afternoon activity. Drinking wine makes life better, it enhances things, just by the essence of wine not necessarily the alcohol or its' effects.

I finally saw Watchmen Part 2/2

The ending was great-there were truly some complex relationships in it that got resolved for a "better" future than one that could have occurred.

Watchmen 2009

Hi all. Well, after much much ado I finally saw 'Watchmen' last night. Actually i got "taken" to go see it. How exciting. The movie was actually really romantic in a hardened vigilante type of way- Dr. Manhattan's quest to align himself with humans and their messy emotions provides a jumping point for insightful dialog about relationships, in general.
I saw this movie at the new Foxboro Stadium movie theater at "Patriots Place". (I believe it is called 'Cinema de Luxe" or something I will check it out and hopefully edit this post at a later time). I was surprised the movie was still out in theaters. To my delight we were two of a total of 5 patrons for the 9:00 pm show ona Thursday night. Embarrassed and weird? Not at all. I would have loved the whole movie theater alone.
So, this movie has the longest beginning ever. Very long, not only establishing a place and time but an artistic motif. The movie starts with a little more information than needed- although I really liked this movie and the pains that went to intricate details the intro was too long and some points of the movie had more detail than needed. Because of the lengthy into, however, the viewer is seriously "on the adventure" with the characters. As dark, different, depressing and all around weird this movie is even for a super hero movie I definitely left the movie thinking in my head trying hard not to scream it out "I WANT TO BE A SUPER HERO". (To my defense the weather was all foggy and dark when we got out and I felt like I was in the movie).
Enough about the beginning it is long and so is the movie. I won't tell you what happens just know this is an intense plot and not a make-out movie. Seriously the plot is more intense, aesthetically dark than the recent Batman movies.
Let us talk about the ending because I really liked it. This is a movie that a bad choice in the ending could have really screwed up the movie. More later... Breakfast...
